QUESTION:
I don't hear any sounds or voices, what gives?

ANSWER:
First, be sure the sound selection in the Options menu of Time
Out Sports is turned on and marked with a tick. If your Windows
compatible sound card is installed properly and the speakers are
connected, you should hear sounds and voices throughout the game.
To check that the card and the associated Windows drivers are in
working order, go to the Main/Control Panel/Sound option. Choose
one of the .WAV files (for example, chord.wav) and press the Test
button. If everything is in working order; you will hear a short
sound. If you hear nothing now, you will hear nothing in the
game. For more information on installing a Windows compatible
sound card, drivers and speakers, refer to your Windows manual or
the Help file from Main/Control Panel/Drivers.

QUESTION:
How do I remove the Time Out Sports Demo from my hard drive?

ANSWER:

Time Out Sports was designed to make as few changes to the
Windows system files as possible, which makes it easy to remove.
First, be sure to select a screen saver other than "Time Out
Screen Saver" from the Main/Control Panel/Desktop window. Next,
delete the following three files from your Windows directory:
TOSRUN.SCR, WINLIB.DLL and TOS.INI. The third step is to remove
the TOS directory and its subdirectories from your hard drive.
If you used a directory name other than "TOS" when installing the
software, remove that directory. And lastly, you must remove the
"TOS Grabber Runner" Program Item from the Start Up Program Group
and the "MicroLeague" Program Group. To remove the TOS Grabber
Runner" double click on the Start Up icon, single click the TOS
Grabber Runner Icon and select File/Delete from the Program
Manager Menu Bar. To delete the "MicroLeague" Program Group,
single click the MicroLeague icon and select File/Delete from the
Program Manager Menu Bar. For further information on deleting,
refer to your Windows user manual or Help Screens.

QUESTION:
Why are the colors so ugly?

ANSWER:

MicroLeague Time Out Sports is a Super VGA game. That is, it
runs in high resolution graphics (640 x 480 pixels) and 8 bit
color (256 colors).

The standard Windows display is VGA (640 x 480 x 16 colors). If
you have Windows running in this standard mode, it will try to
display our beautiful 256 colors using its 16 color palette. Go
to Main/Windows Setup and the Display option should read "Super
VGA 640x480 256 colors". If the display is set to VGA Windows
will only be able to use the default Windows palette.

To tell Windows you have SVGA capabilities, select "Super VGA
640x480 256 colors" if the option is there. If that option is
not present, you need to install a driver from the video card
manufacturer. This driver should have come on a disk with the
video card if you installed it yourself, or with a bunch of disks
you got when you bought hour computer if the video card was
already installed. If you do not have this driver, you can
download a standard set of drivers from CompuServe, GEnie,
Microsoft OnLine or by contacting the Microsoft BBS via modem
at (206) 936-6735. If you don't have a modem, call Microsoft
Customer Support at (206) 637-7098 to have a disk sent to you
via mail.

Once you have a disk with the proper video drivers, open the
Main/Windows Setup dialog, and pull down the Options menu.
Select Change System Settings... and a dialog box will appear.
Pull down the "Display" box and select "Other Display (requires
disk from OEM)". Now follow the instructions to install the
proper driver to display 256 colors.
