Dragon Quest V3.4 Release Notes
===============================

This

Most of the files included with this game are currently compressed,
and end in the underscore '_' character (ie. vbrun300.dl_). You do
NOT have to expand these files - the setup program will do that for you.

To Install from disk:

1.) Start Microsoft Windows
2.) Insert the Dragon Quest Disk in drive A (or B)
3.) From the Program Manager, select the File Menu and choose Run
4.) Type a:\setup (or b:\setup)
5.) Select installation directory

********************** INSTALLATION NOTE ***************************

Due to the changing versions of third party vendor software, there have
been some problems associated with the threed.vbx, and the vbrun300.dll
files in the past. To remedy this, all game files including needed dlls
and controls (vbx files) are installed to the specified dirctory at
installation time. None of the needed files are written to either the
C:\WINDOWS nor C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories except the vbrun300.dll and
ver.dll files. These two files are required by the Microsoft setup
program. There should be conflict as to which dll or control is
used (installed or user's); as the problems in most cases have been a
compilation option which has affected version control issues, but have
not substantially affected general user functions or game hardware or
software changes.

In some cases, a Windows fault occurs when running the initial Microsoft
setup program from within Windows for WorkGroups 3.11. If this occurs,
you will probably be forced to reboot your computer, and rerun the setup
program. I have never found an instance where this event occurs on
successive installation attempts.
