2. How to setup "CD-ROM driver for Sound Blaster Card"
======================================================

    Before you do any installation, please read the instruction that comes
    with Windows NT for any setup information.

    There are two instants that you can install the SbcdNt.SYS driver.

    T E X T   S E T U P   P H A S E
    -------------------------------

    Follow the steps below if you want to start a new Windows NT system.  You
    can then install the Windows NT using the CD-ROM drive on Sound Blaster
    Card.  You need to use the boot disk that comes with Windows NT to start
    the Windows NT installation.


     1. Choose "Custom Setup" for Windows NT Setup.

     2. Enter "S" to install additional SCSI Adapters.

     3. Select "Other (Requires disk provided by a hardware manufacturer)".

     4. When the message "Manufacturer-supplied support disk into drive A:"
        shown, insert the disk into drive A:, followed by Enter.

     5. Choose "CD-ROM driver for Sound Blaster Card" to install this driver.

     6. Continue the normal setup procedure of Windows NT Setup that followed.



    M A I N T E N A N C E   M O D E   S E T U P
    -------------------------------------------

    If you have already installed the Windows NT, follow the steps below to
    install the driver.

     1. Open the "Main" program group.

     2. Invoke the program "Windows NT Setup".

     3. Open the pull down menu "Options".

     4. Select menu item "Add/Remove SCSI Adapters...".

     5. In the "SCSI Adapter Setup" poll out dialogue, press the "Add..."
        button.

     6. Select "Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" option
        from "Select SCSI Adapter Option" poll out dialogue.

     7. Insert this disk into floppy drive A: or B: then press "OK" button.

     8. You will see pop out menu "Select OEM Option".  Choose "CD-ROM driver
        for Sound Blaster Card" followed by "OK" button.  This will add
        "CD-ROM driver for Sound Blaster Card" into the option list of
        "Select SCSI Adapter Option".

     9. Press "Install" button to install the "CD-ROM driver for Sound Blaster
        Card".

    10. You will see message "The SCSI Adapter selected is already installed".
        Press "OK" button.

    11. Press "Cancel" button.  You will see "CD-ROM driver for Sound Blaster
        Card" in the installed list.

    12. Remember to restart the Windows NT for the driver to take effect.



3. How to install the Wave/MIDI, Auxiliary Audio and Synthesizer drivers
========================================================================

    1. After installing Windows NT, run the "Control Panel" application,
       the icon for which is in the "Main" group within the Program Manager
       window.

    2. Activate the "Drivers" applet.

    3. Within the "Drivers" dialog box, press the "Add..." button.

    4. Within the "Add" dialog box, select "Unlisted or Updated Driver"
       and press the "OK" button.

    5. Within the "Install Driver" dialog box
        a. Type in the path to this disk in the text entry box
        b. Insert this disk into the drive you've just specified
        c. Press the "OK" button

    6. Within the "Add Unlisted or Updated Driver" dialog box, select either
              "Creative Sound Blaster 16 Wave and MIDI"
           or "Creative Sound Blaster Pro Wave and MIDI",
       press the "OK" button, and follow the subsequent instructions on
       configuring the driver.

    7. Now install
              "Creative Sound Blaster 16 Auxiliary Audio"
           or "Creative Sound Blaster Pro Auxiliary Audio"

    8. Note that you will have to restart the system for the drivers
       to take effect.



4. Installing the SB16 mixer
============================

The SB16 mixer is resided in the WIN32APP of this installation disk.
Currently there is no installation program to install the mixer, you will
have to copy the SB16WMIX.EXE & CTRES32.DLL from the WIN32APP subdirectory
to your WIN32APP directory on your harddisk.

The following steps helps you to add the SB16 Mixer to your Windows NT 
desktop:

    1. Click "New" at the "File" menu option from your Windows NT desktop.
    2. Select "Common Program group" if you wish to create a new Program
       Group for the SB16 mixer, if not, skip this step if you do not wish
       to create any new group.
    3. Select "Program item".
    4. Use the "Browse" option to add the SB16 mixer.
    5. It should be in the WIN32APP directory of your hard disk.



5. Notes for SBPro user
=======================

    1. If you are using Sound Blaster Pro card, make sure to use MIC
       for recording.  The current driver works only with MIC-In recording.
       CD-In and Line-In will be available when the mixer application is
       ready.

    2. If you are using Sound Blaster Pro card and the VOLUME CONTROL
       application from Microsoft to control the volume, please note
       that the application did not identify certain auxiliary devices
       from the mixer and named it as AUX.
