                 Video Blaster FS200 LATEST INFORMATION
                 ======================================

This file contains information not available during the printing of
the manual. Please read all the sections before you proceed with any
installation procedure.

This file contains the following sections:

     1. Software Installation
     2. Changes to FS200ENV.EXE.
     3. Chromakey test with FS200TST.
     4. Setting up for different DOS modes with FS200SET.

1. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

The installation program, INSTALL.EXE will modify your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file. If you have Microsoft Windows 3.1 installed
in your system, you can optionally select to modify WIN.INI to
include the command to setup the drivers and applications for
Video Blaster FS200 the next time you start up Windows. Your
original files will be renamed with a .B~K extension.

The procedure for installation is as follows.

     a. Run the program INSTALL.EXE from DOS prompt. This program
can be found on Disk #1.

     b. Select "Begin Installation" and follow the instructions on
          the screen.

     c. Quit the installation program when it completes
          successfully.

     d. REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM.

     e. You may proceed to test your Video Blaster FS200 card with
the program FS200TST.EXE located in the \VBFS200 directory.

If you allowed the installation program to add a command to
your WIN.INI, the program WINSETUP.EXE will be run the next
time you start up Windows. Optionally you may follow the
          following steps to run WINSETUP.EXE.

          i. Start Microsoft Windows 3.1.

ii. From the FILE menu in Program Manager, choose RUN.

iii. Type "C:\VBFS200\WINSETUP" and press ENTER, assuming
that you installed Video Blaster FS200 software onto
               drive C.

iv. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the
               installation.

2. CHANGES TO FS200ENV.

FS200ENV has been enhanced to make it more responsive to your
system. The following are changes to FS200ENV which are not
     reflected in the manual:

     a) When you select another port address for use by the
Video Blaster FS200, you can choose to view the jumpers to
set for that port address. (The manual also has a table of
          the jumper settings.)

     b) When you choose a frame buffer address, FS200ENV will check
that the region is OK for use by the Video Blaster FS200.
It will then warn you if:

          i) there are any RAM conflicts (possibly another
               peripheral device); or
ii) the memory region is already in use by an expanded-
               memory manager (e.g. EMM386 or QEMM386).

Note, however, that this check may cause your system to hang
if there should be conflict with some device or your memory
          manager.

     c) If you use the expanded-memory region for the
Video Blaster FS200, FS200ENV will automatically attempt to
update your SYSTEM.INI to add a "EMMExclude=" statement into
it. This statement will inform Windows that the memory will
be used by the Video Blaster FS200.

FS200ENV will prompt you for the path where Windows may be
found before processing the SYSTEM.INI file. The original
SYSTEM.INI will be renamed to SYSTEM.B~K.

3. CHROMAKEY TEST WITH FS200TST.

The user manual has inadvertently left out a more detailed
description on what to expect when running the Chroma Keying test
     in FS200TST.

When running the test, you will see several horizontal bands of
colors which are drawn into the frame buffer. The chromakeying
test will be selecting one of those bands to key to. If the
keying is successful, you will see the white words "Chroma Key"
on a blue background in place of the color band.

4. SETTING UP FOR DIFFERENT DOS MODES WITH FS200SET.

By default, FS200SET sets up the video alignment for the standard
VGA 640x480x16 colors mode. It can also be run to set up the
alignment for a few other common VGA modes. These modes are:

     a) Text mode (80x25 columns)
     b) 640x480x256 colors
     c) 800x600x16 colors
     d) 800x600x256 colors

To set up the video alignment in one of these modes, type
FS200SET <parameter> at the command line, where <parameter>
should be one of the following:

/T for 80x25 columns text mode
/G0 for 640x480x16 colors (the default mode)
     /G1 640x480x256 colors
     /G2 800x600x16 colors
     /G3 800x600x256 colors

For example, to set up for 800x600x256 colors, type the following
     at the DOS command line:

          FS200SET /G3

Note that the same set of alignment values are used under DOS and
Windows, so if you have set up the video alignment using the
Video Blaster FS200 Setup Windows program, you need not set it up
     again under DOS.
