What is PUZZLER!
================

PUZZLER! is a crossword puzzle game for Windows.  The
unregistered version provides a sample crossword puzzle
for you to solve while learning about the software.  The
registered version ($10) comes with 25 puzzles of various
difficulty and size (one puzzle includes numerous visual clues).
You will also receive a free copy of Carner's screen saver
program "Make Your Own Screen Saver".  This program 
lets you select up to 15 bitmaps of your choice for 
alternate display as a screen saver.

PUZZLER! is ideal for home, work or even on a laptop
to provide some fun while waiting for a plane.  Be sure
to read about CONTEST PUZZLER! (in Help) which can 
provide puzzle fun for work groups.

How to set up the unregistered version of PUZZLER!

Create a directory such as C:\PUZZLER and copy 
puzzshwr.exe, puzzler.hlp, stars.bmp and sample.pzl files 
into it.  Two other files - COMMDLG.DLL and CMDIALOG.VBX
should reside in your windows system directory
(usually c:\windows\system).  These may alreay 
be in your windows\system directory depending on
the other applications you have loaded on your PC,
but if not, copy them there.

Finally, you must have VBRUN300.DLL in your windows
system directory as well.  This file has not been
included in puzzler.zip because it is generally
available.  If you do not have VBRUN300.DLL check your
BBS.  It is widely available for download (it is
the Visual Basic run time dll).

Once the files are in place, just double click on
PUZZSHWR.EXE in file manager to launch the program.

You may also create a program group item in program
manager the usual way.  One other method is to choose
FILE - RUN in program manager (or file manager) and 
type c:\puzzler\puzzshwr.exe.
