1. INTRODUCTION

Spelling Sentry is a stand-alone spelling checker application for
Microsoft Windows. A 16-bit version of Spelling Sentry is available
for Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups, and a 32-bit version is
available for Windows 95 and Windows NT.

You can use Spelling Sentry from any application -- your favorite word
processor, Write, NotePad, WordPad (Win95 only) WinCim, Netscape,
Internet Explorer, e-mail, etc.

2. KEY FEATURES OF SPELLING SENTRY

Key features of Spelling Sentry include:

  * Can check text in most edit boxes directly -- just click the
    mouse on the text you want to check

  * Can check text in WordPad (Win95 version only)

  * Can check text files of any size, Write files, and WordPad (RTF)
    files

  * Can check the clipboard

  * Comes with 100,000-word American and British English dictionaries

  * Dictionaries in Dutch, Finnish, French, Italian, German, Spanish,
    and Swedish available

  * Can automatically or conditionally correct hundreds of common
    spelling errors

3. HOW TO INSTALL SPELLING SENTRY

To install Spelling Sentry from a ZIP file:

  1. Unzip the Spelling Sentry ZIP file to a temporary directory.

  2. Run SETUP.EXE from the temporary directory.

  3. Follow the instructions displayed by the installation program.

To install Spelling Sentry from diskette:

  1. Insert the Spelling Sentry diskette in drive A: (or B:).

  2. Run A:SETUP (or B:SETUP).

  3. Follow the instructions displayed by the installation program.

4. HOW TO RUN SPELLING SENTRY

To run the 16-bit version of Spelling Sentry on Windows 3.1, Windows
for Workgroups, or Windows 95, run Spelling Sentry 16 from the Spelling
Sentry group under Program Manager or the Start menu. You can also run
SPELLSEN.EXE from the File Manager or Explorer.

To run the 32-bit version of Spelling Sentry on Windows 95, run
Spelling Sentry 32 from the Start menu's Spelling Sentry group. You can
also run SPELL32.EXE from the Explorer.

Select the Help|Contents menu item for instructions on using and
operating Spelling Sentry.

5. User's Guide Changes

To uninstall Spelling Sentry/32 from Windows 95, select Uninstall from
the Spelling Sentry Start-menu folder, or run REMOVE.EXE from the directory
where you installed Spelling Sentry.
