1. INTRODUCTION

Wintertree Thesaurus is a stand-alone thesaurus application for
Microsoft Windows. You can use Wintertree Thesaurus from any
application -- your favorite word processor, Write, NotePad,
WinCim, e-mail, etc. Wintertree Thesaurus runs under Windows 3.1,
Windows 95 and Windows NT.

2. KEY FEATURES OF WINTERTREE THESAURUS

Key features of Wintertree Thesaurus include:

  * 50,000 synonyms for over 20,000 key words

  * Classifies synonyms according to parts of speech: Adjectives, adverbs,
    nouns, and verbs

  * Ability to locate antonyms (opposites) as well as synonyms

  * Add your own synonyms to user thesaurus files

  * Can copy key words and selected synonyms to or from the Windows
    clipboard

  * Can offer suggested replacements for unknown key words

3. HOW TO INSTALL WINTERTREE THESAURUS

To install Wintertree Thesaurus from a ZIP file:

  1. Unzip the Wintertree Thesaurus ZIP file to a temporary directory.

  2. Run INSTALL from the temporary directory.

  3. Follow the instructions displayed by the Setup program.

To install Wintertree Thesaurus from diskette:

  1. Insert the Wintertree Thesaurus diskette in drive A: (or B:).

  2. Run A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL).

  3. Follow the instructions displayed by the installation
     program.

4. HOW TO RUN WINTERTREE THESAURUS

Run WINTHES.EXE from the Program Manager, File Manager, or Start menu.

Click on the Help button for instructions on using and operating
Wintertree Thesaurus.
