A mouse is helpful. How to Start the Program Start the program by double clicking on the TRX icon. Once the program has started, you can get help on using the program by clicking the Hints menu item. The program also has context-sensitive help that displays help on the topic you are using. If you want help on a particular menu command, just highlight the command and press the F1 key or click the Help item at the bottom of the screen. Using the Sample Data The program comes with an extensive set of sample data which will be installed automatically when you install the program. You can test the program by using the sample data. When you want to add your own data, you can delete the sample data. If you wish to keep the sample data, then run the backup command (found under the File menu item) to save the sample data on a floppy disk before you delete it. When you delete the sample data, delete the accounts first. This is because, if you delete the assets first, you will not be able to delete the assets owned by accounts. Once the accounts have been deleted, the assets may be deleted. Deinstalling the program The Windows installation of the program comes with an UNINSTALL program. This will delete all of the files associated with the program, INCLUDING ANY DATA FILES associated with the program, and will then delete the directory in which the program is located. The only program left will be the uninstall program itself, TRXDPMIU.EXE, which resides in the Windows directory. You will have to erase this file manually. The DOS Real Mode version of the program does not come with an uninstall program, so you must erase the files in the directory manually. Upcoming Versions TRX v2.0 for Windows is under development and expected to be available in late 1997. This program will have all of the functionality of TRX v1.1 and more, including ability to print graphs, drag-and-drop capabilities for values in edit controls and the calculator and calendar, ability to enter and save data on commissions and fees for transactions, and much more. For current TRX users, the new version will look very much the same and have many of the same commands. Comments We always appreciate comments on our products from our customers.
