If this is the case, then you would not be able to print from any applications. To install print drivers: 1) In Windows 95, go to Settings-Printers from the Start Menu. 2) In Windows 3.1, go to the Control Panels-Printers from the "Main" Program Manager Group. For more detailed information, consult your Windows and/or printer manuals. If you are experiencing video playback or general performance problems with Paying for School, please follow these steps: 1) Make sure that NO other programs are running in Windows. This includes screen savers such as AfterDark, virus protection programs, DOS Shells ... anything! 2) Make sure that you have enough AVAILABLE (not total) memory to run Paying for School. As mentioned above in the system requirements, Paying for School needs: ... at least 5.0 MB to run in 256 colors ( 8-bit) ... at least 6.5 MB to run in HiColor (16-bit) ... at least 8.0 MB to run in TrueColor (24-bit) To check how much available memory you have when using: Windows 3.1 --> In PROGRAM MANAGER, click on the 'Help' menu, then choose 'About Program Manager...'. This dialog box will tell you how much free memory you have. Windows95 --> Double click on your "computer icon" (the default name is 'My Computer' ... you may have renamed it). Click on the 'Help' menu, then choose 'About Windows95...'. This dialog box will tell you how much free memory you have. If you find that you don't have enough free memory to run Paying for School, you have two options: a) Enable Virtual Memory (consult your user's manual on how to perform this task). b) Buy more memory. 3) Make sure that you have a compatible video card. A list of video cards that are known to be compatible with Paying for School can be found in Section 3 of this README file. 4) Make sure that you are using the correct video driver for your video card (consult your user's manual for details). Palette transitions are very slow. 2. Passed video tests in 8-bit resolution only. In 16-bit and 24-bit mode, black garbage is drawn on the screen. 3. In high resolution, QuickTime movies play ~25 pixels to the left of the intended location. 4. QuickTime movies display white. 5. The True Color setting is not currently compatible. If high color depth is needed, use the 24-bit setting. 6. In 24-bit mode, moving images in 16-bit AVI videos leave trails. 7. In 640x480, 8-bit resolution, some QuickTime movies play in multiple locations on screen. 8. Palette transitions that occur in adjacent frames cause video interference. To work around this, space them at least one frame apart. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- -- SOUND CARDS -- ----------------- Windows 95 The following sound cards have been tested and provide acceptable results for playback in Windows 95.
