We highly recommend that you spend a few minutes to view this demonstration. This will enable you to better enjoy this fantasy of Thoroughbred horse racing. If at any time you wish to end this demonstration, just press the escape key, 'Esc' on most keyboards. HORSE RACING FANTASY is an animated adventure in Thoroughbred Horse Racing. This unique software uses over 30 different traits for each horse and race- track to provide an amazingly accurate simulation of a horse race. Just like in real horse racing, the performance each horse will vary from race to race, and no two races are exactly alike. HORSE RACING FANTASY is actually four games in one. In the @15Spectator Game@7 you can: * Set up your own races * Choose from over 100 champion horses * Choose from 77 racetracks * Run instant replays * Examine photo finishes * Save your favorite races to enjoy again and again In the @15Betting Game@7 you can also: * Make win, place, show and exacta bets * Keep track of bets and winnings for up to eight bettors * Have unlimited bettors for a great party game In the @15Jockey Game@7 you are the jockey for one of the horses. You must decide when to hold back, move inside, move outside and go for the lead. You will be challenged by various tracks, race distances and the computer intelligence which guides the other horses. In the @15Trainer Game@7 you schedule workouts for your horse, select races to enter, and give strategy instructions to your jockey. Your objective is to train your horse to perform to its highest potential. Experience the satis- faction of molding a champion thoroughbred! The computer will keep track of the best jockeys and trainers in the beginner, intermediate and advanced categories. You earn points when your horse finish- es 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. In the Trainer Game your points also depend on the importance of the race, so you must select your races carefully. If you like @15Party Games@7, HORSE RACING FANTASY provides for several options, some of which support an unlimited number of players. The simplest version is to use the @14Spectator Game@7 to set up a race, and have each player pick their favorite horse. Keep track of winning players if you wish, but just cheering your horse down the homestretch is most of the fun. You will be surprised how rowdy an otherwise subdued group of people can become. Another possibility is the @13Betting Game@7. Use this game if you want the com- puter to keep track of each player's bets and money won (or lost) for up to eight bettors. Suggestion: set the Initial Betting Pool Size to $5,000 or so (see Option 6 of the Main Menu), and start all players out with $500. This will insure realistic bet payoffs and give players equal opportunities for profit. If you have more than eight players you can still use the Betting Game. You just have to use play money to make bets and paper & pencil to write out receipts for bets. More Party Game ideas... Try the @11Jockey Game@7 and give each person a chance to ride. Whoever wins their race can advance to the next round. Play until only one person is undefeated, or play "double elimination" where you play until only one person has less than two losing races. There is no user manual provided with this software; our hope is that you can learn to use it by just following the prompts. There are just a couple of things you need to know. When the computer asks you a yes/no question, you need to type 'y' or 'n' and press the ENTER key. When the computer presents you with a menu, there are two ways you can make a selection: 1. Type the number of the desired option, or 2. Go to the desired option by pressing the arrow keys or space bar; then press the 'Enter' key.
