Horse Racing Fantasy - where champions never retire!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------

This software works best when installed onto a hard drive.  The following steps are required to install onto a hard drive:

Step 1.  Establish a separate subdirectory such as HRACE.  For example, from the c:\ prompt type 'MKDIR HRACE' and press the enter key.

Step 2.  Copy all files from the Horse Racing Fantasy diskette into the directory that you just created.  For example, assuming you have inserted the diskette into the a: drive, type 'COPY A:*.* C:\HRACE' and press the enter key.  Shareware users can just unzip the .zip file into the target directory.

That's it!  You are ready to play!

To run the software, just type 'HRFAN' at the DOS prompt and press the enter key.  Then just follow the prompts.

LITTLE HINTS
------------

1.  Whenever the system asks you a Yes/No question, you may respond in one of two ways:  (a) type 'Y' or 'N' and press the enter key, or (b) just press the enter key for a 'yes' and press the escape key for a 'no'.

2.  Press F3 during the race to accelerate the display (somewhat like the fast forward button on a VCR).  You may press it up to 2 times, but remember your computer configuration limits how fast you can run a race.  Press F4 to slow down the display speed.

3.  This software was designed to run using a CGA card (Color Graphics Adapter) or an EGA card (Enhanced Graphics Adapter).  It should also run with any compatiable adapter.  This includes, but is not limited to, VGA and Super VGA.  It will also run on a Monocrome/Printer Adapter, but this configuration does not take full advantage of the animation graphics.

IBM PC/AT, PS/2 and 100% compatiables
32K available memory
MS-DOS 3.2 or above
At least one diskette drive

Caution: Unpredictable results are occasionally observed when running this program under Windows, especially when the sound option is turned on.
