RELEASE NOTES
-------------

This version of QUACK is shareware. Please read the information under 
Help|Registration, and register within 30 days if you wish to continue using
the product. You will then receive version 2.1 or later as soon as it is
available.

If you have previously registered for any version of QUACK, you do NOT need
to register again to upgrade your current version.


New features since V1.5
------------------------

QUACK version 2.0 has a number of major new features:

Fourier Synthesis - create your own waveforms in an easy to use
dialog box.

Mixer - mix up to 4 signals. This adds to the merger and modulator
componants already available, of course.

Constant - a handy way of producing a constant value signal, if you
ever need to.

Compact view - cram more componants onto your screen to help when
editing complicated patch maps.

New features since V1.03
------------------------

These new features have been available since V1.5 (just for those
of you who are upgrading from V1.03):

Full visual editing, and a number of user interface improvements, make V1.5
much, much easier to use. For instance:

- create your componants from the Componants palette (enabled by the
  View|Componants menu)
- connect componants with the mouse. Click on the first (output) componant
  and drag to the other componant.
- edit a componant by double clicking on it.
- click the right mouse button on a componant to popup a menu to delete
  connections and componants.

WAV file import - incorporate real sound samples in amongst all the other
electronic effects already available in QUACK. You now have a powerful (and
visual) sound processing engine.

Test your sounds from within QUACK. The "Play" button works!!! Now you can
choose a working file in advance, then your modify-create-play loop becomes
quick and easy. No more incessant "File Save" dialogs.


Features which didn't quite make it
-----------------------------------

As predicted in V1.03, the following features, which are mentioned in the 
Help file, did not quite make it into this release.

Comb filter
Sequencer

These will be available eventually.

- Delay, repeat and sequencer effects

think about it, so that we can develop QUACK is the right direction.
