WizGo For Windows Version 1.0 1) Introduction 2) Installation 3) File Descriptions 4) Comments 5) Disclaimer 1) Introduction WizGo For Windows is fun and challenging for kids to learn their math facts. Children and adults can also enjoy just a plain game of Bingo. This is the perfect program for a teacher to use in the classroom or for a parent to use at home to drill their children on their math facts in a fun way. If the math option is selected, a letter and a math problem are displayed. The answer to the math problem is the the number that would be called out in a Bingo game. Just like in real Bingo, the answer may or may not be on your answer card. If it is not, just wait for the next problem; if it is, then click on that number on your answer card. Use the Game menu to select a math game. You can also play a normal game which works just like the classic bingo. The Registered version of this game includes five different Bingo type games. In the first game you have to get a vertical column to win. In the second game you have to get a horizontal column to win. The third game is more challenging where you have to win diagonally. In the fourth game you have to fill in the perimiter of your game card to win. The last and hardest game makes you fill-in or blackout the entire card to win. Hurry up though because you are playing against the computer. You don't want IT to win, do you? The unregistered version, however, includes only the first game. By registering this game you can have more Bingo games to play. When your children play this with math, they can truly become the wiz kid in the class thanks to WizGo. This brings me to my next point. WizGo is shareware. That is to say, it's not free. Shareware is a means of marketing software for those of us who don't have a crack marketing department with a huge budget. The basic premise is that you get to try out the software before you buy it. Once you've tried the product, and decided it is worth the cost, you send in your registration fee and will receive the latest, greatest version of the software. This process is known as Shareware Registration. In this case the latest and greatest version has some of the annoying aspects of the shareware version taken out. Such as, allowing you to play the other four bingo game that are included in WizGo. That is unlike the shareware version which only lets you play the first game. The registered version also loads **much** faster than the shareware version. Another advantage to registering is that it gets rid of the nag screen, and you get the next version of this program free of cost. The registration price is $13 in the USA ($12 for the program, and $1 for shipping and future contact costs. The perfered method of ordering is for you to use CompuServe's Software Registration forum (GO SWREG) and use SWREG ID# 12278. If you are unable to use that method, you can send a check or money order for $13 through the mail to the address listed below. If you use this method, then also include a card with your full name, address, phone number, and email address as all are required to complete the registration procedure. 2) Installation Aside from the ZIP file WIZGO.ZIP you will need one other file to successfully install and run WizGo. You will need: VBRUN200.DLL VBRUN200.DLL is the run-time module needed to run all programs written in the language Visual Basic. VBRUN200.DLL can be found on all on-line services including CompuServe. It is also available at my website http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/skyverve/. You probably already have this file, though. Once you have VBRUN200.DLL uncompress it, and put this file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. It can also be put in the directory with the program, but placing it in the Windows directory gives other programs access to the file too. Installation couldn't be easier. Simply create a new directory and put all the files from WIZGO.ZIP into the directory. If you want to add the file to a Windows Program Manager program group or the start menu, simply drag the file from Windows file manager to the program group where you wish for the file to reside or drag the file from my computer to the start menu. 3) File Descriptions You should find the following files in WIZGO.ZIP WIZGO.EXE - The executable WizGo program README.TXT - This readme file THREED.VBX - A Custom Control file required for the program to run 4) Comments Any comments, suggestions, or critiques can be sent to me at one of the following addresses: CompuServe - 73024,673 InterNet - 73024,673@compuserve.com U.S. Mail - Ben Winter 2220 Palm Way Upland, CA 91784 Please visit my WWW site at http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/skyverve/ where you can download this and other shareware programs that I have written. 5) DISCLAIMER Should you decide to use WizGo you must agree to the following disclaimer: WizGo is supplied as is.
