Thanks for trying GOAL for DOS. It's a great way to view federal
job listings offline. If you would like to try the shareware WINDOWS
version, you can get it via FTP from 'users.aol.com/USFEDJOBS'. Download
the file GOAL4WIN.ZIP. Decompress, then run 'SETUP.EXE'. You will also
need the lastest job listings (see HOW TO DOWNLOAD UPDATED JOB LISTINGS,
below)

There's no registration fee for using the shareware version, and new job
listing data is available from the Office Of Personnel Management (details
below) at no charge. 

GOAL for DOS shareware version (NO Registration fee!):
        - Easy to use.
        - Views all worldwide federal government job listings.
        - Allows searches by Job Title and/or Job Location.

Registered WINDOWS Version ($21.95):
        - Allows searches by job title and/or location, up to
          10 titles and 5 locations per query.
        - Prints OF-612, the new optional application for federal
          employment. You can make multiple versions of your OF-612
          to accomodate each type of job you may want to apply for.
          For example, if you want to apply for accounting and
          computer positions, make one OF-612 for accounting postions
          and one for computer related positions. When you see a job
          you want to apply for, press a key and GOALV2 will print the
          appropriate OF-612 for the listing you selected.
        - Saves queries. No need to re-enter job search criteria every
          time you do a search. Saves an unlimited number of queries.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD UPDATED JOB LISTINGS:

Before beginning your job search, download the latest OPM listings.
The file you need is ENTIRE_2.ZIP, which has all the latest job listings
released by the Federal Office Of Personnel Management.

There are many different sources for updated job listings.
Here are a few:

          1) FTP from the Office Of Personnel Management site.
             IP Address is 198.78.46.10
             Download the file ENTIRE_2.ZIP (in the "jobs" subdirectory),
             move or copy  this file to the GOALV2 directory where GOALV2
             is installed. After decompressing ENTIRE_2.ZIP, you will
             have ENTIRE_2.DAT, which is the file GOALV2 requires to
             update the database.

          2) OPM BBS @ (912) 757-3100. Again, download ENTIRE_2.ZIP,
             copy or move to GOALV2 directory, decompress, etc.

          3) I have a web page, http://users.aol.com/USFEDJOBS/usfedjob.html
             This site allows users to download GOAL4WIN.ZIP, which has the
             latest shareware version of GOALV2.
             There is also a link to the OPM FTP site, which allows you
             to download ENTIRE_2.ZIP.
             This site, still under construction, will have other information
             of use to the federal job seeker.
