Solder Runner HELP.TXT ---------------------------------------------------------- Windows Level Editor Warning - This editor will alter the level maps of this game. Please make backups of the origional level files before editing. To edit a level file: 1. Choose the zoom level of the map view area. 2. Select the file name of the level you wish to edit. 3. Select Edit Map. 4. Use the move button to move around the map. 5. Click the Tile button to choose the graphic You wish to place on the map. 6. Place the graphics on the map using the mouse to point and click on the map area. 7. Save the map before you exit the editor. (only Registered users can save a level.) The Map: 10x10 grid of 100 Rooms(screens). Each screen is 24x18 tiles(graphic elements). Use the graphics button to get to the level setup button. The level setup will need to know the player start room and room of the level boss. Teleports: Teleports will require a room number to teleport to, enter the room number in that field. The player will be teleported to the same tile position on the new room. Vaccume Tubes: In order for these to zapp a player when they cross their path. You must define their path using the zapp up, down, left and zapp right graphics. Beware: If a player enters a screen and lands on a graphic tile that is considered a solid object (like a wall), the game may crash or become confused. Remember this when working editing the edges of the room screens. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ DOS Editor (Registerd Version Only) The major diference between the DOS editor and the Windows Editor is that the DOS editor allows you to view the actual game screens this allows you to see exactly what the player will see. This helps aid you in level beautification etc. The first menu you will see gives you the option to select the episode 1,2 or 3. The second menu you will see gives you the option to edit the map or view the map or to clear the map.
