CONDITIONS If you would like me to reveal the secret of this SECRET RSUM FORMAT, you must meet all of the following conditions: ~~~ Condition #1: You must be currently unemployed or underemployed ~~~~~~~~~~~~ due to a layoff or other unscheduled interruption in your career that was beyond your control and not of your own causing. My purpose in releasing this secret is to help those people, like myself, who need help to restart their careers. In my own case I was laid off by The Boeing Company on April 23, 1993. I remained unemployed for seventeen months. During that painful period of my life I could not find a suitable job because my standard rsum formats weren't working! In October 1994 I accepted a very low paid teaching job at a vocational school only because my unemployment benefits were exhausted, I had no more personal assets to liquidate, and I had borrowed more money from friends and family than I would have ever considered before. Besides, it was the only job I was offered, so I took it. For ten months I worked hard to be the best instructor I could be, and in the eyes of my students I was. However, in the eyes of the school's management I was seen only as an expendable employee, and was laid off again on August 17, 1995 when the company needed to cut costs or go out of business. After trying out several standard rsum formats, I was asked by a potential employer to create something a little different in the way I presented my skills and abilities on paper. He wanted to see how I could work graphics into the Functional rsum I had previously sent him. I did much more than carelessly throw in a graphic here and there. As I began reformatting I created an entirely new format than anything this hiring manager had ever seen before. Thus, the SECRET RSUM FORMAT was born. My new rsum impressed him so much I was immediately called in for an interview. When I arrived in the office even the receptionist complimented me on my unique approach! Unfortunately, the job that was available turned out be something I was not terribly interested in, and by that time my new rsum format had already set me up with another immediate interview opportunity! The "hit rate" on my new rsum was higher than any other rsum format I have ever sent out in over twenty years, and seven previous jobs I had been hired into. It worked for me, after having been laid off twice in two years and being unemployed during my job search. I'm sure it can work for you. But, you must be either unemployed or underemployed before I will share this secret with you. Condition #2: Very few people, if indeed any, appreciate things ~~~~~~~~~~~~ they get for FREE. This SECRET RSUM FORMAT is not free. You must pay the licensing fee of $50.00 (fifty dollars) before you will receive the details guiding you to the creation of your own successful rsum using the SECRET RSUM FORMAT. Why $50.00? It's an arbitrary figure I felt would separate the serious job seekers from the curious looky-loos. If you really want a rsum format proven to get results, then you'll find a way to send the money. I, more than most people, realize that $50.00 is a lot of money to someone who is unemployed. In the past three years, out of 36 months, I have been unemployed for twenty (20) of those months. (May 1993 through September 1994 after Boeing, and September through November 1995 after the vocational school laid me off.) However, I also know the huge expense of running a personal job search campaign and the money wasted by sending out hundreds of ineffective rsums that never turn up interviews. During my layoff from Boeing I sent out approximately four thousand rsums, over a two year period, until I found the job at the vocational school that paid me less than half of what I had made at Boeing. Those rsums were the standard chronological, functional and targeted formats that you are probably using now! That's why there were so many and why they turned up nothing! Fifty dollars is roughly equivalent to just the postage of sending out less than 160 rsums at $0.32 per stamp. If those rsums fail to generate interviews, then that money is wasted. Is fifty bucks too much to ask for the rsum that will get you call-backs and interviews? I don't think so! Condition #3: You must agree not to apply for any jobs within ~~~~~~~~~~~~ the state of Washington using the SECRET RSUM FORMAT. Washington is where I live and work and where I want to stay. Should the unthinkable happen to me again, I don't want to be faced with competing against my own rsum format for my next job. I know that sounds selfish of me, but it's a very tough job market out there and I don't need any more competition than I already have. There are already thirty to forty thousand ex-Boeing employees trying to find jobs around here, so I don't need you adding to that number. I love living in Washington state! I don't want to move anywhere else because of a job change, so I must protect my own territory. You have free reign to try out the rsum in the other 49 states, but Washington is mine! Condition #4: You must agree to use the SECRET RSUM FORMAT only for the purpose of securing a job interview for yourself. You may not publish the format for any other purpose. I own the copyright! Putting this SECRET RSUM FORMAT out to the general public, to be used by just anyone, will wipe-out its effectiveness. One of the key features of its success is that it is so unique that personnel people and hiring managers actually take the time to read it. If everyone started using this format it would be no more effective than the old standards everyone uses now. What do you get for your $50.00? First and foremost you will receive a copy of the exact rsum I used to secure my current career position with a great company and some really terrific people! Plus, you will receive the follow-up "SECRET SALARY HISTORY FORMAT" that I used to present my up and down, and up and down again, salary history in such a way that it all looked positive and progressive. Even though my current employer could see that in 1983 I took a two thousand dollar a year pay cut after a layoff, and then in 1989 I took another six thousand dollar a year pay cut after another layoff, he still came away with the feeling that my overall salary history was "positive and progressive". It's all in the way you present it! (In case you're wondering, I have been laid off four (4) times in twelve (12) years.) Also, you get a copy of my "SECRET REFERENCE LIST FORMAT" which was essential to me landing my current job. The last two companies to lay me off both have strict policies of never, under any circumstances, allowing their managers to give out references on former employees. Boeing policy says they can only verify periods of employment and last salary figures. The same policy is adhered to by the vocational school. Without good references many job offers are sunk! This follow-up page shows you how to present weaker references with more strength and provides a way to get good references from former employers, like Boeing, by circumventing their stupid policies. But that's not all! I will also include samples of previous rsums I have used which were far less successful than the SECRET RSUM FORMAT. You will see that some of my former attempts are very similar to what you are using now. As you read through each rsum you will see how I've drawn from past mistakes and successes to create the very successful SECRET RSUM FORMAT! And, most importantly of all... If you wish, I will personally help you in the final stages of designing your new SECRET FORMAT RSUM by providing follow-up editing suggestions on the stylization and wording of your final draft copy. NOTICE: The SECRET RSUM FORMAT will only be shared with a very select group of applicants. ~~~~ If you do not qualify under the conditions stated above, your check or money order will be returned to you. If you do qualify, and are accepted into this very select group of people, you must be aware that there will be no refunds or returns. Once the secret is revealed to you it cannot be concealed again or expunged from your memory. IF YOU BELIEVE YOU QUALIFY under the four conditions as stated above, and you wish to apply for admission to this very select group of people who will share in this secret... PRINT OUT THE APPLICATION by ESCaping from this chapter, CLICKING on the "Application" button or pressing the letter "A" from the menu, and then pressing the "P" key to PRINT the Application Form on your printer.
