Attention WinFax Pro 3.0 Users:

Did you know that if someone sends you a one page fax and for whatever reason
WinFax Pro does not receive the end of page code, that it will not save the
page? If you're like me, then this can cause serious problems. For example,
I receive faxes from Europe on a regular basis. The majority of which are
single pages. Because of line noise and whatever, it is USUAL for the sender
to get some sort of error after having sent their fax to me. Usually what
happens is their machine has read the entire page in about 30 to 40 seconds
and then hangs up. Since their machine appears to have sent the entire page,
they rely on me to call if any part of the fax is unreadable. The problem
with that is that I have no way of seeing the portion of the page that
did make it through, because WinFax Pro deletes the page. It does, however,
place an entry in the receive log. This is great, but only if the sending
machine has sent an appropriate Fax ID. Many fax machines are difficult to
set up, so people don't always set their ID's (or set them to something
meaningless).

Now it might be easy for someone to say, well if those people are too stupid
to ignore an error message (but perhaps their machine didn't even report an
error, maybe it sent the end of page code, but because of line noise,
WinFax Pro wasn't able to receive it) or too lazy to set up their fax
machine's ID, then it's their fault you don't have the fax. But the truth
of the matter is that if WinFax Pro did it's job and acted like a fax
machine, then I would have at least some part of the page.
